Survival Kit for a friend...

A month or so back I had a friend ask me to help him put a winter survival kit together. He told me it was for his Ski-Patrol during a down-hill skiing competition. Each group had to have one of these for the day... in case of emergency.
I told him I would put one together for him as long as I got it back. He agreed and I went home to tear the garage apart.... again.
Here is the kit I put together.

Now. Other than the first-aid kit that I asked him to supply and the backpack that is not in the picture...... what is missing? Remember please that I am just looking for feedback and the kit is not meant to be compact. It is for winter use and the people using it are not very experienced in survival or bushcraft.

Just looking for a little "two cents".

  1. What are all of the items? Can you list 'em?

  2. Looks good but I might add;
    1.Kukri or Machete, just as effective as a small axe and easier for inexpirience people to use. Very slim for packing, get an 18 inch.
