Hard to tell what the tracks are without something for scale. Something that doesn't mind water but without webbed feet and not swimming. It is five toed so probably not the fastest of creatures. There seem to be different lengths of front and rear prints but that may just be wishful thinking on my part. I can't see any particular claw marks either. My guess is a raccoon or something similar. Am I close?
Well I would like to say that it was Mungo during his last visit, (He did keep asking if he had to wear shoes) but I think Sam is right about it being a raccoon. We did have a porcupine and a skunk around but truth be told, I would have to look it up to know for sure. My guess is raccoon.
When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world. --John Muir, 1838-1914
"The knife is the balance point for survival in the bush. Without it, you have to stay on the move. With it, you create the opportunity to rest." - Mors Kochanski
"Be Prepared... the meaning of the motto is that a scout must prepare himself by previous thinking out and practicing how to act on any accident or emergency so that he is never taken by surprise."
- Robert Baden-Powell
"nothing outranks the importance of clothing in cold weather survival" - Mors Kochanski
"Success in training the boy depends largely on the Scoutmaster's own personal example." - Robert Baden-Powell
